Keep Hope Alive and Find Good Trouble
Posted by Sandra Sessoms-Penny on Friday, September 4, 2020
What an incredible year 2020 has been as we continue to experience a new world with new expectations every day. It certainly has kept me humble witnessing the many changes that have seemingly evolved from sparks and embers. We are living in unprecedented times and the play book has amassed many new moves to keep us hopeful and engaged in living well and staying safe. This is the 175th day of experiencing something new and making decisions that did not exist at the beginning of the year. We are still blessed. I believe our past experiences do not determine our future and therefore, want to remember the good in our society and in our world. Life interruptions inspires us to find new ways of making good things happen. The actions we take set the stage for a better today and tomorrow. I pray for a much better world for generations to come for my children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and the nation.
It is necessary to call the roll of some really incredible people who will forever keep us in search of Good Trouble and an unmatched legacy of service: Representative John Lewis, B. Smith, Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Ja'Net Dubois, Ben Cross, Kelly Preston, Bonnie Pointer, Janice Green, Betty Wright, Little Richard, Ellis Marsalis, Bill Withers, Kenny Rogers, Max Von Sydow, Esther Scott, Kirk Douglas, Kobe Bryant, Ivory Claude, Mary Higgins Clark and the list continues in our memories. Good people who made a difference.
We remember and acknowledge "Black Lives Matter!"
Evaluate your hopes and dreams and determine to leave an indelible footprint of honor and integrity.
